The UP government opened the doors for the expansion of the metro network in Greater Noida West by approving an extension of the Aqua Line. The construction of this metro track from Noida Sector 71 to Knowledge Park 5 will complete in 2 phases. In the first phase, the metro will operate on 9.6 km long route from Sector 71 to Sector 2 Greater Noida. It will help more than one lakh people living in Greater Noida West. The population is increasing at the fast track because the Builders in Noida Extension are offering possession on their projects. Because of the need for smooth transportation in this area, the authority has decided to connect Greater Noida West with Noida and NCR through the metro.
The construction of the metro track from Noida Sector 71 to Knowledge Park- V will complete in two phases. In the first construction phase, the metro will run from Sector 71 to Sector 2 of Greater Noida on 9.6 kilometers long route. The total budget for this project is 1521 crores in which Noida Authority & Central government will spend 1286 crores. On the other hand, the Greater Noida Authority will bear 235 crores. Noida Sector 71 will be followed by sector-120, sector-123, Greno West sector-4, Greno West sector 16B, and sector-2 Greater Noida. In the second phase, 14.95 km of track will construct from Sector-2 till Knowledge Park Five Greater Noida.
For the first phase, the Uttar Pradesh government is supposed to provide its approval in December. As per the sources, the state government had solicited Cabinet notes from Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC), to introduce the proposal in the Union Cabinet for final consent. In this regard, NMRC has provided essential records to the state government. As promptly as the Cabinet provides the final approval, the construction work on this metro project will start in the coming three months. Tentatively the work on this Aqua Line Metro Extension project will be finished in the coming three years.
