Jewar Airport<\/strong>, being developed across more than 5,000 hectares<\/strong>, is set to become the world\u2019s fifth-largest airport<\/strong> and the second-largest airport in Asia<\/strong>. Currently, Asia\u2019s largest airport is King Fahd International Airport<\/strong> in Saudi Arabia, while Shanghai International Airport in China<\/strong>, spread across 3,988 hectares<\/strong>, ranks next. Once completed, Jewar Airport will surpass Shanghai Airport in size, making it Asia\u2019s second largest aviation hub.<\/p>\n

If development progresses as planned, this mega infrastructure project in Uttar Pradesh<\/strong> will take full shape within the next few years. Upon completion, Jewar Airport will be almost double the size of Delhi\u2019s Indira Gandhi International Airport<\/strong>, significantly easing air traffic congestion in the National Capital Region. As per earlier proposals, once operational, it will rank among the top five airports globally<\/strong> in terms of area.<\/p>\n

The construction of Jewar Airport has long been anticipated to boost economic growth, tourism, employment opportunities, and business activities<\/strong> in the region. It is also expected to reduce the operational burden on IGI Airport, Delhi. The state government has approved the budget for the project, land acquisition has begun, and groundwork is currently underway.<\/p>\n

This massive development is already driving demand for residential apartments and commercial space<\/strong> in nearby regions such as Noida, Greater Noida, Yamuna Expressway, and Jewar<\/strong>. Investors and homebuyers are increasingly exploring residential apartments<\/strong> near Jewar Airport, while businesses are eyeing premium commercial space<\/strong><\/a> due to the expected rise in connectivity and footfall.<\/p>\n

Proposal to Increase Runways from Six to Eight<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL)<\/strong> is preparing a proposal to increase the number of runways at Jewar Airport from six to eight<\/strong>. This proposal will be sent to the state government after completion of the land acquisition process for the first phase, which includes 1,239 hectares<\/strong> of land.<\/p>\n

If approved, the airport will be developed across approximately 5,000 hectares<\/strong>, strengthening its position as the world\u2019s fifth-largest airport<\/strong>. This expansion will further enhance the region\u2019s potential for commercial space development<\/strong>, logistics hubs, IT parks, and mixed-use developments, along with premium residential apartments<\/strong> for professionals and investors.<\/p>\n

Ranked 5th in the World and 2nd in Asia<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Currently, the largest airport in the world<\/strong> is King Fahd International Airport, Saudi Arabia<\/strong>, covering 77,600 hectares<\/strong>. It is followed by Denver International Airport (13,571 hectares)<\/strong> and Dallas\/Fort Worth International Airport (6,963 hectares)<\/strong> in the US. Orlando International Airport<\/strong> and Washington Dulles International Airport<\/strong> occupy the fourth and fifth positions with 5,383 hectares<\/strong> and 4,856 hectares<\/strong>, respectively.<\/p>\n

With a planned area of 5,000 hectares<\/strong>, Jewar Airport<\/strong> will secure its place as the world\u2019s fifth-largest airport<\/strong> and the second-largest airport in Asia<\/strong>.
